About

Hello,

My name is Kathryn, and welcome to my lifestyle blog.

I am 24 years old and living an ordinary life, made just a little bit less ordinary due to the fact that I’m currently living with my boyfriend in South Korea. My friends seem to think that this automatically makes my life some big, exciting adventure, but I’m more than happy to admit that although I’m living halfway across the world, my life still revolves around a normal 9-5 job (teaching), good old English TV shows and many cups of proper English tea (which I travel specifically to the Korean chain of Tesco to buy). So suddenly, my life doesn’t seem so exciting!

I also have to mention the most important person in my Korean life, and that is my house-rabbit called Malteser, named after the most delicious chocolate in the world!

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you enjoy my random ramblings…

  1. Great blog!! I’m moving to Anyang (near Seoul) myself in February to teach, so this has been really helpful. I’m from the good old UK too (London) so can totally relate! Thanks a lot, look forward to reading more 🙂

  2. I just stumbled upon your blog by a link from a friend of Facebook.

It has brought back a lot of memories for me. I first came to teach in Korea in 2004 at the age of 23. I lived there for five years, got married to a Korean (still happily married), and moved on to teach in another country.

When I first arrived in Korea, we didn’t have Facebook and Twitter, but there was a small blogging community. I even kept a blog similar to yours.

It’s amazing how the experiences that teachers have in Korea have not changed very much since I started out there, however the earning power of foreign teachers in Korea has definitely gone down relative to inflation. It is not even a shadow of what it used to be.

Enjoy your time there, and I will check in from time to time.
